What prof. J. Sachs has to tell EU parliament about Ukraine war
European and Ukrainian politics are immature and unfit to resolve the issue of war and peace in Ukraine. It is high time for the EU to establish an autonomous foreign policy and engage in dialogue with Russia, listening to the arguments of all parties involved and seeking a compromise. If you do not display aggression and ensure the security of your neighbor, especially a major nuclear power, you can reach an agreement on security for all. By granting others the human rights you advocate for yourself, you eliminate the reasons for violence. There is nothing painful about allowing the people of EU countries, including the Baltic states, and regions of Ukraine with even more than 25% Russian-speaking residents to use their language, practice their religion, and enjoy political freedoms. It does no harm but significantly contributes to peaceful coexistence.
